Shopify Website
created for you

If your brand sells products, the website and shopping experience need to work together. Shopify combines a product catalogue, content and sales channels in one system. We plan the site so that visitors understand your offering and can clearly follow the journey from product to checkout preview.

Shopify as a website platform – with sales at its core

This builder page covers Shopify as a platform for branding, content and product sales. It does not replace our general online store creation service, which focuses on platform-independent store planning. Here, we look at themes, product data, categories, markets and suitable extensions within a Shopify website. All sales views are explicitly illustrative demos.

Which projects is Shopify suitable for?

Shopify can make sense when products and sales are a central part of your business. A brand with a small range needs a different approach to presenting information from an extensive catalogue. International sales regions bring additional questions about language, availability and operational setup. Subscriptions or other special features may require suitable apps. For a purely corporate website with no sales objective, another system may be a better fit. We therefore assess the objective first and the platform second, rather than recommending Shopify indiscriminately for every website.

For overall shop planning: Create online store.

A brand website built from purposeful sections

02 / Shopify

Themes form the basis of the presentation and can provide various sections. The introduction, categories, bestsellers, brand story, newsletter and blog serve different purposes. The demo lets you show and hide these sections; the remaining content rearranges itself. The visible review areas are explicitly placeholders with no genuine customer statements or review counts. A website should not rely on supposed trust for which there is no verifiable basis.

For your website, we plan the order around visitors' questions. What is being sold, who is it for and what information is missing before a decision can be made? A brand story can explain origins or values, but must not make access to products unnecessarily difficult. Newsletters and blogs need a genuinely planned maintenance process. Which sections the chosen theme offers and which customisations are required are assessed separately. The preview does not change any Shopify configuration or write anything to a store account.

Product data supports multiple views

03 / Shopify

Product name, price, variant, category and availability affect more than a single product page. They also appear in overviews and influence the shopping experience. The demo updates the product card, category and detail view simultaneously. The product shown is an invented example with an explicitly fictional price. It is neither offered for sale nor presented as a client's product. The colour changes the selected variant; availability displays a clear status.

In the real project, we define how products and variants are organised and which information visitors need to make a decision. Categories must be clear and suit the product range. Good product data helps with maintenance, navigation and search engine information, but does not guarantee rankings. Images, descriptions and delivery information are aligned in terms of content. The demo serves to make these dependencies visible. A click only updates local states and changes neither stock levels nor prices on a real Shopify website.

From product to a clearly labelled checkout preview

04 / Shopify

A purchase journey involves several decisions. Visitors choose a variant, add the product to the basket and check the quantity and price. Only then does the checkout preview follow. The demo shows progress in text and visually. The example code DEMO10 reduces the fictional product amount by ten per cent; it is not a valid discount for a real store. You can change the quantity or reset at any time. There is no order completion, no payment field and no real payment.

For a real online store, payments, delivery terms, taxes and legal information are configured appropriately. Which checkout customisations are available depends on the plan and the intended features. We distinguish between website design and the limitations of the actual checkout. Before publication, we test the agreed journeys and error scenarios. The demo can only explain how to navigate the process; it does not replace a complete operational or legal configuration, or testing of an actual sales process.

Plan markets, language and availability together

05 / Shopify

Switching markets can affect currency, language, domain or path and product availability. Shopify Markets offers options for international sales regions whose specific setup needs to be assessed. The demo distinguishes between Switzerland, Germany and an English-language international view. Delivery information, the search result and an explicitly fictional price change together. A currency display alone does not mean that a store is already fully ready to sell in another country.

For your website, we clarify which markets you can actually serve and what requirements arise from this. Prices, taxes, payment methods, domains and translations need clear, reasoned decisions. The availability of individual products may also differ. Content must not be only partially translated while important notices remain in another language. The preview shows these relationships without setting up real market rules. The language switch stays within the demo and affects neither the official language of this website nor any saved settings.

Site structure and discoverability go hand in hand: SEO search engine optimization and GEO optimisation help put things into perspective.

More than a product catalogue

06 / Shopify

Information pages, blog articles and campaign pages help visitors understand your brand and products. The demo switches between an illustrative brand story, a guide and a landing page. Each content type has a different purpose: to provide orientation, answer a question or explain a specific offering. Content does not automatically become good simply because it sits alongside a product catalogue. Structure, language and maintenance must suit the business and its intended audience.

We plan which information is needed permanently and which content should be updated regularly. A guide must be factually reliable; a campaign page needs a clear message and an understandable next step. FAQs and contact options must not be missing either. For search engines, we consider page titles, internal links and clear content, without guaranteeing results. The preview shows no real client projects and uses no genuine brand information. All stories shown remain visibly labelled as illustrative examples.

Apps add functionality selectively, not automatically

07 / Shopify

Reviews, subscriptions, product bundles, shipping or accounting may require additional solutions. Apps are one option, but not every task needs an external extension. The schematic selection shows neutral categories rather than blanket recommendations for individual providers. Enabled features appear as notices in the demo store. Reviews remain explicitly placeholders; no testimonials, stars or success figures are invented. Activating a category does not perform an installation either.

When selecting apps, we consider data protection, loading time, compatibility and ongoing costs. An app may introduce additional access permissions and dependencies. Several extensions with similar purposes may increase complexity without improving the shopping experience. We therefore document which functionality is genuinely needed and which is already possible with the planned configuration. Updates and provider changes are part of ongoing operations. The demo has no connection to Shopify and changes neither customer information nor orders, shipping rules or settings.

Carefully weigh up benefits and limitations

What the platform can support

  • Clear focus on product sales
  • Centralised management of products and orders
  • Themes, content pages and a blog within one system
  • Markets and languages can be configured to suit your needs

What we check first

  • The platform, apps and additional services may incur ongoing costs
  • Transaction and payment fees are reviewed for each project
  • Checkout customisation depends on the plan and available features
  • Apps can affect speed, data protection and complexity

A sales-focused system requires organisational clarity. Product maintenance, markets, payments and shipping must work together, even if they appear in different parts of the website.

Platform plans, apps and potential payment or transaction fees are checked against current terms for each project. The fictional prices in the demos are for illustration only. A purely informational website may not need this sales setup at all.

From product range to a cohesive Shopify website

  1. 01

Discuss sales objectives and product range

The product range, sales regions and organisational limitations are clarified first.

  2. 02

Structure the brand and website sections

Brand information and access to products are arranged in a logical order.

  3. 03

Prepare the theme and product model

Product fields, variants and categories are tailored to the actual content.

  4. 04

    Review markets and required features

Languages, currencies, extensions and operational requirements are reviewed.

  5. 05

    Check purchasing and maintenance workflows

The basket, contact options and maintenance tasks are checked using suitable examples.

  6. 06

    Clarify training and operational tasks

The handover explains responsibilities for content, products and ongoing configuration.

For an existing website, we first review the content, structure and planned changes. To establish a suitable technical foundation, we consider Domain Support and Business email. Website design does not replace decisions about shipping, taxes, payments or ongoing product maintenance.

An existing website needs the right next step

An existing Shopify site should be assessed in terms of both its website structure and its shopping experience. The Website analysis helps put things into perspective; a Website improvement focuses on agreed changes. For the purchasing process, Online store analysis and Online store improvements are available. Content, design and technical decisions are not optimised independently.

Product maintenance and brand content need clear responsibilities and an introduction based on the areas actually configured. The Website training can support the planned maintenance. For discoverability, we consider SEO search engine optimization and GEO optimisation without guaranteeing rankings or results.

Frequently asked questions about Shopify websites

Does this page replace Create an online store?

No. This page focuses on Shopify as a platform and website system. The general online store service covers the fundamental planning of a shop, regardless of the provider. The two perspectives complement each other without creating competing general shop services.

Is Shopify a sensible choice for a website without products?

It may be an option, but it is not automatically the most suitable choice. Shopify is strongly focused on selling. If your website only presents services and information, we compare other systems against your actual needs.

Can Shopify also include a blog and information pages?

Yes, content beyond the product catalogue can form part of your website. The page types and content management workflows that make sense depend on your brand. The content strategy is planned alongside navigation and how visitors are guided through your products.

Are international markets set up straight away?

No. Language, currency, domains, availability, taxes and payments need suitable configuration. Shopify Markets offers options for this; their scope and requirements are reviewed for the intended countries and chosen plan.

Do we need lots of apps?

Not necessarily. We first review the existing features and your actual needs. Additional apps are assessed for cost, data protection, speed and compatibility. A long list of apps is not a sign of quality.

Can the checkout be designed with complete freedom?

The available customisation options depend on the plan and intended features. We check these limits early and do not promise unrestricted control. The demo is only a guide, not a replica of an actual configured checkout.

Who manages products and categories?

These tasks can be prepared for your team and explained during training. A clear product structure makes the work easier. Responsibilities for prices, variants, availability and content should be agreed before launch.

What additional costs might arise?

Alongside the platform plan, there may be costs for apps, payment and transaction fees, and external services. Terms change and are reviewed for each project. The product prices shown here are purely demo figures, not platform prices.
