Marketing analysisfor businessesin Zurich

When several offerings compete for attention at the same time, marketing quickly becomes a question of what comes first. Which target audience should understand which offering? Which campaign fulfils a distinct purpose, and where do several measures address the same people with contradictory messages?

Have your marketing in Zurich analysed
An orange stick figure arranges campaigns, target audiences and advertising content in a priority matrix and links the selection to a clear enquiry route.

Examine existing activities · agree the scope · discuss findings personally

Having many options does not yet mean having a clear order of priorities

For businesses in Zurich, Widmer & Kunz examines these connections through a structured review of positioning, content, landing pages and enquiry routes. Support is provided from Basel. The focus is not on adding another channel, but on providing an understandable assessment of what is already there. Budget allocations are also compared, without deriving an individual recommendation from a simplified presentation. Together, we define the scope of the analysis and discuss which data is robust, which questions remain open and which priorities for further decisions may emerge under your particular circumstances.

Multiple offerings, parallel campaigns and differing internal expectations can obscure what matters most. In highly competitive markets, not every additional activity is therefore automatically helpful. We begin with the decisions your business wants to prepare for: sharpening its positioning, assessing existing campaigns or making the collaboration between marketing and enquiry handling easier to understand.

A priority matrix illustrates how relevance, effort, available data and dependencies can be considered together. It does not provide an individual recommendation. Widmer & Kunz provides support for businesses in Zurich from Basel. Together, we separate current decision - making questions from long - term possibilities and record which assumptions should be checked first before further measures are planned.

Distinguish offerings before assessing channels

When different services are presented using the same general statements, their individual significance remains unclear. We therefore begin by looking at the business and its offering as a decision - making structure: which service suits which need, what prerequisites apply and how do the next steps differ? This starting point later influences both how target audiences are addressed and how campaign data and enquiries are interpreted.

One possible objective of the analysis may be clearer positioning; another may be reviewing existing campaigns or making measurement easier to understand. The choice of objectives highlights different questions for review. For guidance only. Not yet a complete analysis or recommendation. What remains crucial is the specific question your business wants to answer and what information is available for that purpose. This does not automatically commission a comprehensive restructuring of the offering.

Examine comparability without making claims about other businesses' figures

Competitor assessment does not mean treating the loudest presence as a model to follow. We examine publicly visible differences in offerings, positioning, websites, content and contact options. In a crowded market, several businesses may cite the same general advantages. What then becomes interesting is which specific information enables a decision and which statements remain interchangeable without any apparent justification.

The competitor view uses only fictional, neutral example businesses. One explains its specialisation, another its process and a third the choice between different offerings. This comparison explains criteria, not actual market shares. It cannot support claims about other providers' budgets, turnover or actual results. The framework for the real investigation is defined separately to suit your market - related question.

Positioning must reflect the service actually provided

Positioning is a reasoned assessment of the offering, not a collection of adjectives chosen to sound as confident as possible. We check whether target audiences can recognise the situation for which a service is intended and which differences are relevant. The brand's presentation is examined through language, imagery, structure and trust signals. Claimed distinctive features must stand up to scrutiny against verifiable characteristics of the business.

With several lines of offerings, a consistent presentation may make sense, while the reasoning needs to be differentiated for each target audience. Whether this applies to you is a subject of the analysis. We distinguish visible contradictions from mere questions of style and document where evidence is missing. A new brand strategy, design or complete overhaul of communications is not automatically included in the investigation assignment.

Decision - making situations rather than the broadest possible lists of target audiences

Private customers, specialists and management teams may consider the same offering for different reasons. A target audience analysis therefore asks about the circumstances prompting their interest, their prior knowledge, their involvement in decisions and their information needs. Local and Switzerland - wide approaches should not be combined without examination either. For businesses in Zurich, a regional contact may be important, while the service itself can be delivered regardless of location.

The target audience view links example groups with appropriate questions and possible points of contact. It does not create ready - made profiles of real people. For your analysis, we consider existing findings, identifiable information gaps and assumptions separately. This makes it clear why a target audience is being considered and which statements could only be examined more closely through further data or conversations.

Jeder Kanal braucht eine erkennbare Aufgabe

A website, online store, Google Ads, Meta Ads, AI ads, SEO, GEO and social media can all be active at the same time without working together effectively. We first assign channels to their potential roles: responding to demand, explaining a topic, making offerings comparable or enabling contact. Adding another channel is not an automatic answer to unclear communication or a lack of assigned responsibilities.

The channel overview shows example connections to email, print and the Google Business Profile. Highlighted activities reveal possible duplication and gaps between stages. This does not yet say anything about effectiveness. Only considering the objective, content, enquiry route and data together can show which questions should be explored in greater depth and which connections are relevant to your business at all.

Compare budget allocations rather than making premature recommendations

When several offerings are advertised, the budget allocation has often developed over time. We consider existing expenditure in relation to objectives, campaign durations, target audiences and internal resources. In doing so, we distinguish media expenditure from the work involved in content, technical maintenance and handling enquiries. A comparison that does not account for these differences may look precise even though it mixes very different tasks.

The budget view compares alternative allocations using example assumptions. It is explicitly a comparison, not an individual budget recommendation. No fixed prices, savings or returns are guaranteed. Any subsequent budget planning would need to take your actual circumstances into account and be discussed separately. Initially, the visualisation helps make the assumptions and dependencies behind an allocation understandable.

Break campaigns down by offering and intent

A campaign analysis does not just consider an account's overall value. We examine whether campaigns reflect different offerings, target audiences or decision - making stages, and whether their evaluation makes these differences identifiable. In Google Ads, search ads may answer different questions from display ads. With Meta Ads, targeting, content and the connection to the offering are examined in their respective context.

For AI ads and automated features, we consider instructions, available data and identifiable control options. Automation is no substitute for a clear rationale behind the offering. The analysis is not automatic campaign optimisation and does not trigger any changes in the advertising account. Potential issues are documented and discussed; you decide in a separate step whether they lead to a test or an adjustment.

Only compare advertising variants with a clear question in mind

Images, videos and ad copy can differ in several characteristics at once. A comparison of variants therefore has only limited explanatory value if the target audience, format, period and message all change. We check which differences can actually be examined. Personal taste is separated from observable characteristics such as clarity, relevance to the offering and a visible call to action, without presuming any effect.

The content review uses fictional advertising content and criteria such as clarity, relevance, trust and how up to date the content is. It shows what a reasoned assessment can look like. For existing advertising content, we record which statements follow from the data and which remain only hypotheses. This does not automatically commission new production work or ongoing creative support.

The landing page must make choosing easier

Anyone clicking on an ad should be able to find the advertised offering. We compare the promise, landing page heading, content, supporting evidence and next action. Particularly where several services are involved, a general overview page may require additional guidance. Whether this constitutes a relevant break in continuity depends on the searcher's intent and decision - making situation; it is not inferred from page length alone.

The alignment view uses examples to show whether the ad, landing page, form and confirmation maintain the same context. For your pages, we examine agreed routes. Potential conversion optimisation is described as a reasoned point for examination, not as a guaranteed improvement. The analysis itself does not automatically replace, expand or adjust live text, layouts or technical features.

Have your marketing in Zurich analysed

Seeking advice and buying can follow different routes

A website with several offerings does not have to lead everyone directly to a purchase. Some services require an enquiry, while others can be selected in the online store. We examine navigation, information hierarchy and the connections between these routes. What matters is whether visitors can recognise which next step suits their needs and what information they require for it.

We consider online store marketing in terms of product information, comparison options, the basket and additional ways to get in touch. Routes for seeking advice are not automatically assessed using the same metrics as direct orders. This distinction helps keep different tasks visible. If required, a technical shop review, a new product structure or a complete website overhaul must be scoped independently and agreed separately.

Relate search topics to offerings and information needs

Search engine optimisation begins by asking which topics your business can address in a clear, well - founded way. We consider page structure, terminology, internal links and the distinction between similar offerings. For local searches, the Google Business Profile may also be an area to examine. Information there should remain understandable and should not contradict basic information on the website or unintentionally create different expectations.

GEO optimisation adds a perspective on content that AI - powered answer systems might interpret. Unambiguous statements and understandable connections are possible points for examination, not a promise of mentions or rankings. The regional connection to Zurich is considered only where it makes sense for the offering and target audience. Simply repeating place names does not establish justified relevance.

Wiederkehrende Kontakte brauchen konsistente Informationen

Social media, email marketing and newsletters can explore topics that appear only briefly on a landing page in more depth. Print materials, in turn, can direct people to digital information. We check whether offering names, statements and contact options remain understandable across these media. A channel is not prioritised solely because content is published there more frequently or it is particularly visible within the organisation.

Keeping information up to date and maintaining it are also part of the assessment: who corrects an outdated reference, who is responsible for a mailing list and who responds to feedback? Data protection and consent are considered as possible aspects to examine. This does not constitute legal approval. New editorial plans, mailing processes or ongoing support are only pursued if the corresponding additional scope is expressly agreed.

Ein Kontaktformular muss zum Anliegen passen

Not every offering requires the same information for an initial enquiry. We consider contact forms in relation to the expected decision and internal handling. Required fields, selection options and explanations can help or create additional barriers. It is also important that the confirmation makes it clear that a message has been received and gives a general indication of how the enquiry will be categorised next.

You can describe your starting position via the contact form, by email or by telephone. These three enquiry routes cater to different preferences and are not assumed to follow an identical process. A brief description of your question is enough for the initial contact. Confidential customer data or login details should not be sent without protection; we will then discuss the documents required and suitable access permissions.

Do not confuse the funnel with a straight line

Lead generation may require several points of contact before a suitable enquiry arises. Existing funnels sometimes represent this reality only in simplified form. We consider awareness, interest, comparison, decision, enquiry or purchase, followed by confirmation and support, as distinct stages. Returning to an earlier stage or asking questions personally are not automatically errors; they may be part of the decision - making situation for a complex offering.

The customer journey view opens up example questions to examine at each stage. For your business, we follow selected routes and document identifiable transitions. Where data is missing, the conclusions remain limited. A suspected interruption is not yet evidence of lost business. It can, however, provide a reason to formulate a specific hypothesis and plan a targeted way of testing it in the next step.

Check measurability before explaining differences in performance

Tracking and analytics can group different events under similar - sounding labels. We therefore clarify what is counted as an enquiry, conversion or contact, and whether technical and organisational transitions are identifiable. This definition is particularly important when several offerings run in parallel. Otherwise, figures may be compared that represent different actions and decision - making stages and are therefore hardly directly comparable.

The tracking readiness view shows possible prerequisites for more meaningful evaluations. Data protection and consent are taken into account, without replacing legal advice or a full technical security review. Measurement configurations, access rights and consent mechanisms remain unchanged unless a separate commission is in place. A lack of measurability is documented as a limitation rather than concealed by seemingly precise statements about actual results.

Kennzahlen brauchen eine to vollziehbare Vergleichsbasis

A report can contain many metrics and still leave the crucial question unanswered. We consider the period, data source, relationship to the objective and definitions. Changes in clicks or enquiries are not automatically attributed to a single measure. Duration, demand, changes to offerings and gaps in measurement can also influence interpretation. Where this information is available, it is explicitly taken into account in the assessment.

The statistics view uses examples to show why two campaigns or periods are not always directly comparable. Absolute figures and relative values answer different questions. For your reports, we separate observation, possible explanation and remaining uncertainty. This does not produce forecasts for revenue, costs or reach, but rather a clear basis for the next discussion about priorities and possible further investigations.

Who decides, who maintains and who has access

Multiple offerings and channels often also mean multiple people are involved. We clarify roles and access so that responsibilities are not merely assumed. Who is responsible for content, who interprets reports and who is authorised to approve changes? These questions affect whether a possible next step is organisationally feasible. The permissions required are discussed in relation to their purpose and in line with the agreed scope of the investigation.

We consider maintenance and further development to be ongoing tasks with their own prerequisites. A one - off analysis does not automatically take on this responsibility. Nor does it in itself constitute a commission for ongoing support. We can make outstanding tasks visible and discuss possible responsibilities; the actual allocation, approval and subsequent execution remain separate decisions for your business.

Possible areas for examination are not a blanket all - inclusive package

The areas described are possible areas for examination. Not every project needs every area. The actual scope is determined by the starting position and the agreed scope of analysis. A focused campaign question may require a different level of detail from an investigation into several lines of offerings. We record which documents, access permissions and comparison questions are included, and which topics expressly remain outside the analysis.

A scope view helps explain such differences through neutral examples. It does not calculate a binding commission. Legal or tax advice, full technical security reviews and automatic changes to websites or advertising accounts are not part of a marketing analysis alone. Recommendations for action do not constitute implementation either; implementation must be discussed and agreed separately, including tasks, responsibilities and prerequisites.

Analyseumfang

Kompakte Standortbestimmung

A recommendation needs a rationale and limits

Recommendations for action should make clear which observation they are based on, what assumption is being made and what still needs to be clarified before a decision. We therefore distinguish substantiated findings from possible explanations. A visible break in continuity on a landing page, for example, may justify a useful examination task without already proving or predicting a specific financial effect from a change.

The analysis identifies possible weaknesses, connections and priorities. Whether and how results change depends on implementation, the offering, the market, the budget and other factors. This context remains important even where apparent issues seem clear. The investigation does not guarantee more enquiries, lower advertising costs, better rankings, higher conversion rates or any other financial outcomes.

Aus einer langen Liste einen besprechbaren Plan machen

The next decision may be smaller than a comprehensive change of direction. Perhaps measurement definitions first need to be clarified, two offerings clearly separated or responsibilities assigned. We organise possible steps according to their prerequisites and record where a test might be useful. In doing so, estimates of effort and presumed effects are not confused with already confirmed results or binding commitments to implementation.

The plan view shows an example sequence of clarification, examination, decision and subsequent review. For your business, this only becomes a concrete implementation plan if separately agreed. You can discuss the results internally first. The contact form, email and telephone are available for follow - up questions; an analysis does not oblige you to engage Widmer & Kunz for subsequent support.

The results must make your next decision easier

A good summary explains not only what stood out, but also why it might be relevant to your original question. We discuss the findings with your team from our base in Basel and make uncertainties explicit. The focus is on clear connections between the offering, target audience, campaign, landing page and enquiry route. This keeps the discussion centred on your business rather than on general platform recommendations.

If you are dealing with several marketing questions at once, start by telling us about the most important decision. You can make an enquiry using the contact form, by email or by telephone. Information on marketing analysis, Meta Ads and Google Ads can explore individual topics in greater depth. Together, we clarify which investigation can be given a meaningful scope; implementation, maintenance and further development remain separate potential agreements for the next stage.

A possible process in Zurich

  1. 01

    Entscheidungsfrage benennen

We start by asking which decision you want to prepare for. Different wishes are recorded separately so that positioning, campaign comparison and measurement problems do not become blurred into a single assignment during the first discussion.

  2. 02

    Angebote unterscheiden

Together, we organise services according to needs, prerequisites and next steps. In doing so, we consider which offerings need to be explained separately and where shared information may genuinely be useful for your target audiences.

  3. 03

    Vergleichsrahmen setzen

We define which campaigns, target audiences or pages should be compared. Their different purposes remain clear, so that similarly named metrics do not lead to a premature assumption that there is a common basis for comparing all the activities under review.

  4. 04

    Analyseumfang festhalten

Potential areas of investigation are selected to suit the starting point. We agree on the depth, available documentation and limits so that additional topics cannot tacitly be understood as included services or as subsequent implementation steps that have already been decided.

  5. 05

    Datenquellen zuordnen

Reports and existing information are matched to their offerings, periods and systems. We flag gaps and differing definitions before figures are compared directly to make statements about campaigns or individual marketing channels.

  6. 06

    Marktumfeld betrachten

Publicly visible positioning and information pathways are examined within the agreed scope. We describe discernible differences without attempting to infer other businesses’ budgets, internal results or financial superiority merely from how they present themselves.

  7. 07

    Kontaktwege verfolgen

Selected adverts are examined through to the landing page, form and confirmation. We document expectations and transitions so that potential breaks in the journey can be understood in the context of the particular offering and the decisions it requires.

  8. 08

    Check the measurement basis

Tracking, analytics and reports are examined for clearly understandable terminology and identifiable limitations. Missing data remain visible as a source of uncertainty and are not replaced with supposedly reliable, sweeping explanations for observed changes.

  9. 09

    Budgets einordnen

Existing allocations are considered in relation to tasks and resources. Illustrative comparisons show assumptions and dependencies, but do not constitute an individual recommendation or a promise of savings and subsequent financial results.

  10. 10

    Explain the reasons for priorities

We organise observations according to relevance, prerequisites and potential effort. In doing so, we distinguish clear issues requiring clarification from hypotheses that should first be tested or examined more closely using additional information before a further decision is made.

  11. 11

    Ergebnisse diskutieren

The assessment is discussed together and explained in response to follow - up questions. We show which statements are well supported, what limitations exist and which decisions your team can continue to prepare for independently on this basis.

  12. 12

    Choose how to proceed

You decide which points should be addressed internally or commissioned separately. Implementation and ongoing support do not begin automatically; tasks, responsibilities and scope are explicitly agreed together before any potential continuation.

Questions about marketing analysis in Zurich

In what situation is analysing several offerings useful?

If different services are being promoted in parallel and their roles remain unclear, a structured investigation can help organise the outstanding questions. We examine target audiences, messages and enquiry routes both separately and in relation to one another. Whether all offerings are included depends on the agreed scope. This does not automatically include a complete repositioning or a revision of all campaigns, nor does it mean that such work has already been formally commissioned.

Do Widmer & Kunz have a branch in Zurich?

Support is provided from Basel. For businesses in Zurich, we discuss the starting point, the scope of the investigation and the findings together through suitable communication channels. What matters is that information and follow - up questions are brought together in a traceable way. This does not imply that we have a branch in Zurich. We agree on how to organise communication to suit those involved and the agreed parameters of the specific analysis.

Ist der Budgetvergleich bereits eine Empfehlung zur Verteilung?

No. The illustrative comparison shows how different assumptions can change an allocation. It does not automatically take all operational requirements into account and is therefore not an individual budget recommendation. Specific planning would require a separate examination of objectives, data, resources and dependencies. No fixed prices, savings or financial results are inferred from it or guaranteed for any subsequent implementation.

How are campaigns with different objectives compared?

First, we clarify the purpose of each campaign and what its metrics actually measure. An information campaign is not necessarily assessed in the same way as a campaign designed to generate direct enquiries. We consider the target audience, duration, offering and data quality. Where there is no common basis for comparison, we state this explicitly rather than deriving an apparently definitive ranking from different figures or declaring winners and losers across the board.

Werden echte Wettbewerber in interaktiven Beispielen bewertet?

No. The examples use fictional, neutral businesses to make comparison criteria understandable without making unsubstantiated claims. An actual market analysis can examine publicly visible information about real providers, if this has been agreed. No assumptions are made about internal results, budgets or business figures. Visible differences in presentation are not evidence of financial superiority or of the actual effectiveness of the respective marketing activities in the market.

Can the investigation be limited to landing pages?

A focused scope is possible in principle. To establish this, we clarify which pages, offerings and preceding touchpoints should be examined. At least a look at the associated adverts and forms often helps to make the connections clear. The specific depth of the investigation is agreed. This does not include a full technical audit or automatic revision of the pages, which must be commissioned separately if required.

What happens if internal responsibilities are unclear?

We make it clear which tasks or decisions need an accountable person or team. These may include approvals, content maintenance, measurement definitions and handling enquiries. However, the analysis does not independently assign internal roles. It provides a basis for your internal coordination. The relevant people in your business then decide for themselves, and explicitly as a separate matter, who takes on which responsibilities and what support is needed.

Do we also have to commission implementation after the analysis?

No. The investigation and any subsequent implementation are separate decisions. You can discuss the findings internally, explore individual questions in greater depth or consider commissioning additional work if needed. Ongoing support, new content and changes to campaigns or the website do not begin automatically. Even a next step that has been discussed requires an appropriate agreement on tasks, responsibility and scope before it is actually carried out within the business.
